These
are some preschool ideas to help you teach and “handle”
a class full of preschool students. These great preschool ideas
are divided up into four categories – acting, crafting, and
singing. Read on to find out more about these excellent preschool
ideas.
Preschool Ideas – “Acting”
You do not need to put on plays for preschoolers. No, “acting”
is not about that. “Acting” is a way to keep children
happy and playing well. When reading a story to your preschoolers,
act out the characters – each character should have his own
unique voice. Every noise in the story should be made, not just
read.
“Acting,” though, goes beyond reading. As a teacher,
you must sometimes magnify your emotions. When students are being
cranky, you can act extra happy and see if you can make them happy
as well. If a preschool student does something that is unacceptable,
like hit another student, you must overemphasize your anger. This
certainly does not mean that you should ever yell at a child or
anything like that, but you must let the child realize that you
are angry. Children do not always get subtle hints.
As a preschool idea, “acting” extends beyond just what
you as a teacher should do. You can also encourage your preschoolers
to “act” during playtime. Let the imaginations of your
preschoolers run wild. Encourage them to act like princesses, teachers,
doctors, or whatever they want to. Let them step out of themselves
and into a new part.
Preschool Ideas – “Crafting”
One of the most important and fun preschool ideas is crafts. No
preschool should be without at least one craft a day. Crafts can
range from simple crayon drawings to messy dealings with shaving
cream. For instance, you can cover a table with foil, have your
preschoolers spray a big pile of shaving cream in the middle and
then let them spread it out across the table. The preschoolers can
then draw in the shaving cream or practice their ABC’s and
123’s.
Crafting also involves coming up with at least one new and interesting
idea for each day. Preschoolers can do the same things more than
once – you do not need to stress yourself out and make sure
that they do not repeat crafts or games. In fact, if students really
love a game or craft, you should definitely do it again, but you
should be sure to introduce something new, as well. Being in preschool
is all about learning about new things and meeting new kids.
Preschool Ideas – “Singing”
If only people of all ages would sing at least once a day! Singing
is a great way for people to ease tension and just get happy. In
preschool, singing is also a great way to learn about things. The
alphabet song is a song for a reason. Singing the alphabet is much
easier than just learning it. Singing is also a great way to learn
about rhyming and new words. If you can find a song to teach a lesson,
go for it. If you can find a song with hand actions… even
better. Singing should be incorporated into every day. And do not
worry if you think you have a bad voice. Preschoolers do not care.
Preschool Ideas – “Resting”
Resting is not just important for the preschoolers, but for you
as a teacher, as well. It can be tiring and overwhelming to entertain
and watch out for a group of young kids, hours on end. Be sure to
take a break when you need to. You can pop in a movie or have the
kids have playtime, or whatever. When you need a break, you need
to take it. It is much better than blowing up at the kids.
The kids also need to rest. You should be sure to have a snack
for the kids every day and a naptime or a movie. When the kids have
not rested, you can tell… they get awfully cranky.
