First, write the required job on the envelope. This could be hall monitor, library attendant, or board eraser, any job or responsibility that the children do collectively as a class. Then write the child's name on the people shape, attach each people shape to a jumbo popstick, and place one people shape into each pocket. Rotate the people shapes accordingly each time taskschange. You will be amazed at how quickly children will jump to their task when a friendly people shape is smiling down at them. This same job board concept can be equally effective at home for everyday or weekly household chores. Attendance charts work in much the same way. Put a child's name on each pocket and a corresponding people shape for every child in the class. Kids can then match their person name to their pocket name to show that they are in class today.
